HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT

The Faculty of Political Theory originated from the Department of Marxist-Leninist Sciences, which was under the Faculty of General Sciences at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry.

In May 2006: The Faculty of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Ideology at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Food Industry was officially established.

In April 2010: The Faculty of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Ideology was renamed the Faculty of Political Theory at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry.

On July 31, 2019: The Faculty of Political Theory was renamed the Faculty of Politics and Law at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (according to Decision No. 1998/QD-DCT dated July 31, 2019, issued by the University President).

From July 1, 2024: The Faculty of Political Theory was re-established following a Decision by the President of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT).

AREAS AND TYPES OF TRAINING

The Faculty of Political Theory consists of two subordinate departments: the Department of Marxism-Leninism and the Department of Politics and Sociology.

The Department of Marxism-Leninism is responsible for teaching the following modules:

Undergraduate level: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy; Marxist-Leninist Political Economy; and Scientific Socialism.

Postgraduate level: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy.

The Department of Politics and Sociology is responsible for teaching the following modules:

Undergraduate level: History of the Communist Party of Vietnam; and Ho Chi Minh Ideology.

In addition, the Faculty is in charge of other modules as assigned by the University Board of Presidents.ACHIEVEMENTS

In addition to teaching, scientific research is a core mission that the faculty members of The Faculty of Political Theory have been actively pursuing. The Faculty has successfully conducted numerous research projects at both University and Faculty levels, achieving significant results. Our lecturers are dedicated to scientific writing, contributing to national and international conferences, as well as publishing in prestigious specialized journals.

Collective Honors:

Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Industry and Trade: 2012, 2014, 2020, 2022.

Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee: 2020.

Title of "Excellent Labor Collective": Consistently from 2010 to 2023.

Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade Workers: Awarded to the Faculty's Trade Union in 2015.

Individual Honors:

Many lecturers have been honored with Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade Workers, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and Commendations from the University President.
