Functions and responsibilities of the Department of Political Theory
I. Position and Functions of the Faculty
The Faculty of Political Theory is a unit under the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (hereinafter referred to as the University). It functions to organize the implementation of training, fostering, and teaching processes for general science and foundational major subjects. This aim is to enhance the quality of human resources at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, step-by-step contributing to the improvement of social human resource quality.

II. Tasks and Authorities of the Faculty
1. Develop training programs, textbooks, teaching, and learning plans; arrange and manage the teaching and learning progress of general science and foundational major subjects for classes and systems within the University as assigned by the President. Lead and organize the training and fostering process for students and trainees within the University's general teaching programs and plans;
2. Register with the University to undertake the task of developing training and fostering programs for various levels and appropriate specialized topics. Coordinate with Departments, Boards, and Faculties to develop and defend programs for opening new majors or subjects (if any);
3. Lead and participate in the implementation of scientific research tasks and technology transfers to serve the undergraduate and postgraduate training and fostering tasks of the University and other domestic or international training and scientific research institutions (if any);
4. Propose changes regarding the organizational structure and personnel within the Faculty;
5. Lead and organize the compilation of programs, textbooks, and learning materials for subjects according to the plans assigned by the President; develop question banks for examinations; conduct research to improve teaching and learning methods; propose plans for the supplementation and maintenance of teaching-learning equipment;
6. Coordinate with the Training Department and Student Management Department to organize examinations and manage exam papers and final results for subjects/specialized topics managed by the Faculty for all classes and training systems as assigned by the President. Participate in the evaluation process for students and trainees to continue their studies in subjects/specialized topics undertaken by the Faculty;
7. Transfer the academic results of students and trainees to relevant units. Prepare transcripts for subjects and specialized topics undertaken by the Faculty and submit them to the Training Department and the Center for Testing and Quality Assurance in accordance with University regulations;
8. Develop long-term and short-term faculty development plans based on departments; develop training programs and Faculty facilities towards standardization, enhancing quality assurance conditions to meet social needs and international integration;
9. Manage public employees and contractual laborers within the Faculty according to the decentralization of the President;
10. Manage the content, methods, and quality of teaching and training; manage the quality of scientific activities of public employees within the Faculty's departments based on job descriptions;
11. Organize the evaluation of public employees within the Faculty by department; participate in the evaluation of superior managers and peer-level managers in accordance with University regulations;
12. Perform other tasks as requested by the President.
