On the afternoon of October 31, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade (HUIT) hosted the conference "Entrepreneurial University: A Global Trend," attracting nearly 400 lecturers, students, and industry experts.

Key attendees included Dr. Dang Duc Thanh (Founder of the Entrepreneurial University model), Dr. Vo Tri Thanh (Institute for Brand Strategy and Competitiveness), and HUIT leadership represented by Dr. Thai Doan Thanh (Vice President) and Dr. Bui Hong Dang (Vice Chairman of the University Council).

The conference highlighted the vital role of the entrepreneurial university model through two keynote addresses:

• Dr. Dang Duc Thanh presented "Entrepreneurial University - A Breakthrough Solution for Sustainable Development of Innovative Startups," emphasizing the creation of spin-offs and startups within universities. Citing models from the US and Israel, he underscored the necessity of university-based ecosystems to drive economic growth.

• Dr. Thai Doan Thanh discussed HUIT's strategy to build an in-house innovation ecosystem. The university focuses on technology transfer centers, business incubation, and strengthened industry-university linkages to equip students with practical entrepreneurial skills.

The event concluded with a vibrant discussion, deepening the understanding of challenges and opportunities in building entrepreneurial universities in Vietnam and reinforcing HUIT's commitment to fostering a creative, adaptable workforce for the modern economy.
